HBO Film, “Protocols of Zion,” Will Screen at the University of Judaism Documentary Advanced Screening on January 19
Filmmaker Marc Levin and the UJ’s Sigi Ziering Institute present an HBO film, “Protocols of Zion,” 90-minute documentary which deals with the migration “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” from the Christian to the Muslim World.
After the film, Ziering Institute Director Dr. Michael Berenbaum will lead a discussion and Q&A session on “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” one of the most notorious works of anti-semitic propaganda in modern times, a forgery that claims to describe a secret Jewish conspiracy for world domination. From the early 20th century to the present day, ultranationalist political groups worldwide have reprinted and distributed the fictitious Protocols to defend and perpetrate their anti-semitic campaigns.
The Sigi Ziering Insitute Exploring the Ethical and Religious Implications of the Holocaust (SZI) is a division of the Center for Jewish Ethics at the University of Judaism. As a central event of the 20th century, the Holocaust impacted our understanding of divinity, humanity, responsibility, identity, and mankind’s capacity to do evil. To benefit the Jewish future and humankind, collectively, the SZI continues to discuss and learn from the ethical dimensions of this chapter of history.
“Protocols of Zion” will be screened at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19 at the University of Judaism’s Gindi Auditorium, 15600 Mulholland Drive, Bel Air. The event is free and space is limited.. The UJ is located in the Sepulveda Pass, just east of the Mulholland Drive exit of the 405 Freeway. Parking is free. To RSVP, contact Tosha at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (310) 470-1297.
